About
Naimisha Press
A small imprint named for a forest.
The name
Naimisha is Naimisharanya — the forest where the sages gathered for a long sacrifice, and where Suta recited the Srimad Bhagavata to Shaunaka and the assembled rishis. The Bhagavata’s own first skandha opens there.
It is a place for listening, not a person who speaks. That is the size we want to be.
The imprint
Naimisha Press publishes long-form graphic novels from the Sanskrit tradition in Hindi, Marathi and English — each book made in all three at once, with identical pagination.
The first series is the Bhagavata Chronicles.
The Srimad Bhagavata Chronicles — The Bhagavata Chronicles sets out to render the complete Srimad Bhagavata — all twelve skandhas — as a single continuous work, in graphic novel form in Hindi, Marathi and English.
The company
Naimisha Press LLC is a company registered in the United States. Indian editions are published by our Indian associate, who is the publisher of record for editions sold in India.
The illustrations in our books are made with AI-assisted tools under human direction; the process is described on the making-of page.
